Seg\u00fan las normas y compromisos internacionales, les pedimos a los gobiernos locales y nacionales que (1) tomen medidas preventivas; (2) garanticen protecci\u00f3n suficiente; y (3) garanticen que se tomen salvaguardias antes, durante y tras los desalojos. Los desalojos forzados son una amenaza a una vida decente y pac\u00edfica. Los desalojos forzados causan terror y sufrimiento a las-os m\u00e1s desfavorecidas-os, con consecuencias devastadoras para ni\u00f1as-os y mujeres<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Hace un a\u00f1o, en la conferencia H\u00e1bitat III celebrada en Quito, 197 estados aprobaron la Nueva Agenda \u201cUrbana\u201d, donde reafirmaron su compromiso a prevenir desalojos y desplazamientos forzados arbitrarios y a proporcionar realojamiento adecuado y digno<a href=\"#_edn2\" name=\"_ednref2\">[ii]<\/a>. Los estados tambi\u00e9n reconocieron la funci\u00f3n social de la propiedad y la tierra en las ciudades y los asentamientos humanos, un componente fundamental del derecho a la ciudad<a href=\"#_edn3\" name=\"_ednref3\">[iii]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">No obstante, a pesar de estos compromisos, estas graves violaciones siguen ocurriendo en todo el mundo. La Nueva Agenda Urbana acogi\u00f3 la visi\u00f3n del Derecho a la Ciudad, entendida como el derecho de tod@s l@s habitantes (presentes y futuros; permanentes y temporales) a usar, ocupar, producir, gobernar y disfrutar ciudades, pueblos y asentamientos justos, inclusivos, seguros y sostenibles, entendidos como bienes comunes. Los desalojos forzados son una clara amenaza a esta visi\u00f3n compartida.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Hoy, expresamos nuestra solidaridad con aquellas-os que se enfrentan a desalojos forzados, desplazamientos y p\u00e9rdidas de hogares, tierras y modos de vida. Hoy, homenajeamos el valor de cientos de organizaciones y de sus luchas sin descanso por el derecho a la ciudad y la justicia social. Hoy nos comprometemos a trabajar juntos para prevenir y denunciar Desalojos Forzados y a apoya a las comunidades afectadas.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En este sentido, nosotras-os &#8211; movimientos sociales, organizaciones no gubernamentales, redes y foros, instituciones acad\u00e9micas, sector p\u00fablico, fundaciones y organizaciones internacionales &#8211; reclamamos urgentemente a los estados que respeten sus compromisos recogidos en las agendas globales y tratados de derechos humanos, que garanticen la funci\u00f3n social de la tierra y la propiedad, que implementen el derecho a la ciudad y que prevengan y remedien los desalojos forzados urgentemente. Continuaremos dando seguimiento y denunciando estas acciones como violaciones graves de derechos humanos.
