En un a\u00f1o nuevamente marcado por los impactos de la pandemia COVID-19, la Plataforma Global por el Derecho a la Ciudad toma este Octubre Urbano para reflexionar sobre los impactos de la crisis del COVID-19 en nuestro Derecho a la Ciudad y los posibles caminos para la protecci\u00f3n e implementaci\u00f3n a largo plazo del Derecho a la Ciudad que han surgido a trav\u00e9s de la movilizaci\u00f3n de la sociedad civil y los actores p\u00fablicos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Este D\u00eda Mundial por el Derecho a la Ciudad, la Plataforma Global por el Derecho a la Ciudad lanza una declaraci\u00f3n colectiva y el Documento Tem\u00e1tico sobre los impactos del Covid-19 en el Derecho a la Ciudad y el papel potencial que el Derecho a la Ciudad podr\u00eda tener como perspectiva fundamental reconstruir ciudades y asentamientos humanos mejores y m\u00e1s justos despu\u00e9s de la pandemia de Covid-19.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

A medida que se implementan las campa\u00f1as de vacunaci\u00f3n y se reactiva la actividad econ\u00f3mica, las desigualdades globales vuelven a ser una muestra clara. Las ciudades y los asentamientos humanos han estado en el centro de la crisis del COVID-19 y jugar\u00e1n un papel clave en el desarrollo de estrategias de recuperaci\u00f3n que impactar\u00e1n en todos los \u00e1mbitos de la vida diaria desde el comercio, la movilidad, la migraci\u00f3n, la vivienda, la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios b\u00e1sicos y otros.<\/span><\/p>\n

La Plataforma Global por el Derecho a la Ciudad (PGDC)<\/strong> tiene como objetivo inspirar un futuro mejor para todos los asentamientos humanos. El PGDC es una red abierta, flexible y diversa de organizaciones de la sociedad civil y gobiernos locales comprometidas con la acci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica y el cambio social a trav\u00e9s de la promoci\u00f3n, defensa y cumplimiento del Derecho a la Ciudad en todos los niveles<\/strong>, con especial atenci\u00f3n a las personas y comunidades afectadas por exclusi\u00f3n y marginaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

El PGDC re\u00fane a movimientos y organizaciones sociales, acad\u00e9micos, redes internacionales, defensores de derechos humanos, ONG, gobiernos locales y otros para colaborar en el surgimiento de nuevas utop\u00edas emancipatorias y lazos sociales en nuestras sociedades.
