Our messages of solidarity

In recent days, in different parts of the world we have witnessed unacceptable episodes of violence and human rights violations by police and military forces. The events in Colombia, in the favela of Jacarezinho in Rio de Janeiro, in Palestine, and in Myanmar point to a sustained increase in the militarisation of our cities and territories, with systematic violence by the police forces that should protect the inhabitants of these communities.

The Global Platform for the Right to the City (GPR2C) joins numerous organisations in condemning this violence, taking a stand in defence of Human Rights and the Right to the City for all the inhabitants of our cities and settlements. We join the calls for solidarity with the Colombian, Brazilian, Palestinian and Myanmar people, sharing resources and materials from the GPR2C members and allies working and struggling in these communities.

If you have materials and resources that you would like to share on this page, please send them to us via contact@right2city.org.
